Carlos Sainz Jr., born  on September 1994 also know as “Smooth Operator” is one of the most sensational driver from team  Ferrari Formula One. Sainz was born  in a family of two time World Rally Champion The  Carlos Sainz Sr., which shows his dedication & commitment towards racing is in his blood. Carlos showed his passion in motorsports and has been working consistently to achieve his dreams.  His journey showcase his passion, dedication and incredible work ethics.

To all my new Formula one followers let me tell you the incredible yet inspiring journey of our smooth operator. Carlos Sainz Jr. began his racing journey in karting, where he quickly displayed his talent. His success in karting paved the way for a move to single-seater racing. In 2010, he joined the Formula BMW Europe series, finishing fourth overall. His performance caught the eye of Red Bull, and he was inducted into their Junior Team.

In 2011, He completed in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Renault 2.0 NEC. Carlos participated in 2013 GP3 Series & FIA European formula 3 Championship but in 2014 he achieved a breakthrough by winning the Formula Renault 3.5 series which proved to be a stepping stone towards formula1 journey.

Sainz Jr. have been a part of many F1 Teams, started from Toro Rosso (2015 – 2017), to Renault(2017- 2018), then McLaren (2019-2020) where he achieved his 1st podium with a 3rd place finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix also securing another podium with a 2nd place finish at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Sainz joined Scuderia Ferrari(2021- Present ), where he gained the buzz and boost to his racing career and also  where he often outpaced his highly-rated teammate Charles Leclerc and finishing the season in fifth place in the Drivers’ Championship.

Carlos Sainz’s first home victory in Formula One is a significant milestone in his career. Sainz had his first home victory in 2023 Spanish Grand Prix on June 4th in Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Montmeló, Spain. Today was a tough race, and I had to give everything to hold on to the lead. The fans gave me the extra energy I needed to push through to the end. Hearing the cheers and seeing the Spanish flags in the stands was unbelievable”,Carlos expressed his gratitude to his ferrari team including all the racer on the track for fair race.

Vamos!” Crossing the finish line first, Sainz achieved his maiden win in front of his home crowd, making it a particularly emotional and memorable moment for him and his supporters.

The term first gained popularity during team radio communications where Sainz would humorously refer to himself as a “smooth operator” after executing a particularly good race or maneuver. The phrase became more widely recognized after a memorable moment during the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix. After securing his first podium finish, Sainz sang the lyrics of the song “Smooth Operator” by Sade over the team radio, which was then broadcasted and celebrated by fans and the media.

It has become a rallying point for fans, who often chant or display signs with the “Smooth Operator” moniker during races, showing their support for Sainz.
